Mobile Phone Software Repairing Introduction (English Subtitles)

Mobile Phone Software Repairing Introduction (English Subtitles)

hello everyone I'm Milad Azmoon from Mobile section of Dr-Bioscom in this video I would like to talk about mobile phone repairing but this is not a tutorial video meaning, I'm not going to teach you anything in this video I'm only going to talk about mobile phone software repairing but to learn mobile software repairing properly, and to gain more knowledge, you need to make sure to watch this video carefully so that you wouldn't have any problems with the future videos generally, problems of a smart device (mobile phone or tablet), generally, problems of a smart device (mobile phone or tablet), are divided into 2 general categories one of them is the software problems, the other one is the hardware problems and when the device is brought to a repairman, the repairman needs to be able to diagnose, if it is a software problem or hardware! I need to say some problems, can't be diagnosed at first sight and we can't tell if it is a software problem or hardware let me give you an example: let's assume a costumer brings a Huawei phone like Y600-U20 or G610-U20 which is stuck on logo and the repairman can't specifically diagnose, if it is a software problem or hardware! that's why, the first thing to do when facing such problems, is to work with software meaning, flash the phone so that if the problem remains even after flashing, or there were too many errors during the process of flashing, or there were too many errors during the process of flashing, and tested all the ways, but still couldn't repair the phone, then we conclude that it is a hardware problem then we need to work on it's hardware many of you might know what I said up until here! many of you might know what I said up until here! now I want to talk about software problems! the main software problems are divided to a couple of parts such as: Flashing: related to the problems that are solved, by flashing (writing the Firmware) FRP, IMEI and Base band repair, boot repair and Rooting FRP, IMEI and Base band repair, boot repair and Rooting there are other problems as well but the ones that I mentioned are the main problems but the ones that I mentioned are the main problems that can happen to mobile phones I'll shortly explain each of them now and fully explain them in future videos and articles but in this video I'll shortly explain them just to get familiar with these concepts flashing devices (mobile phone and tablet), is exactly like reinstalling computer windows which we write a new operating system on the device (mobile/ tablet) and the new operating system can be exact same version, as the one which was on the device for example a device is Android 5 and we write a new Android 5 on the device (flashing)! we can also update the phone by flashing it! for example a mobile/ tablet's default Android is 5 for example a mobile/ tablet's default Android is 5 and it can be updated to Android 6 or 7, and by downloading the firmware file with higher Android version of this model, we can write it (flash) on the device and that's how to update it! The next question is: when do we need to flash a device? when the device is hanging meaning, slowing down and the problem wouldn't be solved even with Factory Reset! second problem is: stuck on logo meaning, the device is stuck on the company's logo and we need to flash the device the next one is the "Stopped" errors for example: camera, Android system,

stopped for example: camera, Android system, stopped and it wasn't solved with Factory Reset and we need to change the device's operating system (flash the device) the next case is restarting problem meaning, the device keeps restarting meaning, the device boots up completely and restarts after a couple of seconds this can be a software problem and would be solved by flashing and similar kinds of problems in which we need to flash the device next case is FRP Factory Reset Protection (FRP) this security system is added to devices with Android 51

1 and higher this security system is added to devices with Android 511 and higher it is done by Google company (set the protection for Android devices) we can use this method in a way that we have an Android device with Android version 511 and higher and the Gmail account is added in device accounts and when we flash or reset the device to factory settings, and when we flash or reset the device to factory settings, the device will ask for Gmail password when it boots up the device will ask for Gmail password when it boots up the Gmail and password which was set on the device, before flashing or resetting it! and until we enter the Gmail and password correctly, and until we enter the Gmail and password correctly, the device won't boot up and we need to bypass this protection with different ways manually and we need to bypass this protection with different ways manually or if we have the mobile repairing boxes, we can solve this problem easier by using them the next case is IMEI and Baseband Repairing this problem happens to Android devices you might wonder: when does this problem happen to devices?! I should say that each unsuccessful software process (like unsuccessful flashing, rooting,

) can lead to (create) a IMEI or Baseband problem let me give you an example: let's assume I'm flashing a phone, but with any reason, the process stops before finishing for example: laptop turns OFF or cable disconnects from the PC, which causes the process to stop in this situation, it's possible for the device to face IMEI or baseband problem! the second case is for the time of downgrading when the device is downgraded with a wrong firmware file, there is a high possibility for the device to face IMEI and baseband problem or it can happen while rooting the device, in a way that, we root a device and it might be rooted properly as well, but that (rooting) might cause IMEI or baseband problem but that (rooting) might cause IMEI or baseband problem this problem happened in Huawei Y320 or Y220 this problem happened in Huawei Y320 or Y220 meaning, I have rooted the phone for any reason and the process completed successfully and rooting caused IMEI or baseband of the phone to be null (invalid) and rooting caused IMEI or baseband of the phone to be null (invalid) even though it was rooted correctly so this is the definition of IMEI and baseband problem which might happen to us repairmen the next case is boot repairing and Android devices might face boot problems I'll get into the details of these kinds of problems in the future videos and answer the questions you might have, such as: in what circumstances can these problems happen? and how can we prevent from them to happen? I can't explain all the details in one session because analyzing all of the problems wouldn't fit in one video, because they are professional issues! I'm just reviewing them as an introduction booting problem occurs when we flash the device with a lower build number file booting problem occurs when we flash the device with a lower build number file and that turns OFF the device completely in these situations, we can't flash it with the usual methods meaning, the device won't enter the downloading or fastboot environment, so that we could flash them with the usual methods and files then we need to save the device by boot repairing method I'll teach you boot repair in the future videos I'll teach you boot repair in the future videos and also show you what to do to NOT face this problem!!! the next case is Rooting device and when do we need to root the device? and what are its usages? and how can we root the device (what methods)? I'll answer all these questions in videos related to the problem and also try to explain the concept completely and start from the older to newer Android versions (Android 4 to 7 and 8

) and start from the older to newer Android versions (Android 4 to 7 and 8) but for this session I'm only going to say that, rooting can be helpful for 2 types of users: rooting can be helpful for 2 types of users: first one is for the usual users (it can have a specific usage for usual users) and the second one is for repairmen rooting for repairmen might provide more professional options rooting for repairmen might provide more professional options which I'm going to give all the information and explanations in the future videos which I'm going to give all the information and explanations in the future videos now I'm going to talk about mobile repairing boxes which brands do boxes support?! also talk about download center, software facilities and their environment also talk about download center, software facilities and their environment so that you wouldn't face problems when you wanted to buy the boxes you can see some of the boxes that I use for repairing you can see some of the boxes that I use for repairing the first box that I'm going to talk about is the boot repair boxes there are many boxes in the market for that purpose for example EasyJtag, UFI, Medusa PRO boxes Medusa PRO is activated in Octoplus pro each of these boxes have several ZIFs for supporting the intended ICs for example UFI box has 2 different adaptors as you see, the first adaptor is for BGA-221 as you see, the first adaptor is for BGA-221 which would be connected to the service port (like this) which would be connected to the service port (like this) and after placing eMMC IC inside the adaptor and closing the cap, we can perform operations on the IC operations like: changing CID, writing dump file, extracting data of the IC writing dump file, extracting data of the IC and as you see, test point of this ZIF is put in here the test point is for the time that the IC isn't detected meaning, it's not possible to get information of the IC and in that case, we can use test point to make the IC detected by the box I'll explain everything in the future videos and this is the other ZIF that supports other ICs as it's written in here: 186-BGA/162-BGA it supports 169-BGA/153-BGA in here it works like the previous ZIF only the supported ICs differ the UFI is actually a very compact box there is a USB 3 port in here service ports are in here and main USB port that's connected to PC is in here and this is where the box's sim card is inserted what is the box's sim card for? sim card is to prove that the box is purchased (and it's NOT cracked) and this is EasyJtag box one of the oldest and best boxes for boot repair you see that its ports are exactly like UFI box it has different ports for boot repair and this is sim card socket and this is the port that's connected to PC and the next one is Medusa PRO box but this one you see in here is octoplus pro box and Medusa and Medusa PRO are activated on octoplus pro box as you see the ports are similar to other boot repair boxes' ports what do you mean by activation of other companies? it means, octoplus pro box can activate, all the software packages released by octoplus company until now for example: LG, Samsung, Medusa, Medusa Pro, FRP Tool and Huawei Tool activation all of these activations are owned by octoplus company and you can activate each of them on your box by purchasing them and you can activate each of them on your box by purchasing them as I was saying, these are boot repair ports and 2 ports for performing operations on mobile phones and on the back of the box, there is a USB port for connecting to PC and as I said, this is box's sim card for preventing it from cracking and the other adaptor I want to show you is for boot repair this is the specific adaptor of UFI box all boxes have these kinds of adaptors I'm showing UFI box's adaptor as an example the adaptors will be connected to mobile mainboard like this then we can perform operations like: extracting data, removing lock and boot repair as you see it has 6 various points DATA, CMD, CLK, GND, VCCQ and VCC points and by connecting them to mobile board with wire, we can access its eMMC IC and perform the required operations easily and perform the required operations easily the other ZIF and adaptor that I want to show is "E-Mate Pro eMMC Tool" which is one of good adaptors for operations related to eMMC which is one of good adaptors for operations related to eMMC as you see, a port is in here which is only for connecting RIFF box 2 and E-Mate box in here, we have a port for connecting EasyJtag it is a port for connecting Medusa PRO and there is a port for connecting to UFI box and this is the port where ZIF of E-Mate pro is connected to and this is the port where ZIF of E-Mate pro is connected to let's assume I want to program BGA 221 IC or BGA 169 or BGA 153 if I have BGA 221, I connect ZIF to port in here and place IC in its ZIF and close the ZIF cap then I can easily program (or perform other operations) this is the port to connect RIFF box 1 and this port is for connecting ATF box! what is the difference between RIFF and ATF? they are different boxes with different companies with different user software environment they also have various facilities all of these boxes (UFI, EasyJtag, Medusa PRO), have their own specific dump file download center so if you have these boxes, you don't need to search for them (dump files) in the websites and you can easily download the required dump files from box's download center one of the most known boxes that's, released for Samsung brand is Z3X Pro and as you see, it has several ports like other boxes USB port (for connecting mobile phone or tablet) "service cable" is written for this port which is used for the older devices that don't support USB which is used for the older devices that don't support USB and USB port on the back is for connecting to PC and this is its sim card for preventing it from cracking! this box supports Samsung by default and performs operations such as: flashing, network unlock, removing lock, IMEI repair and baseband and as long as software package of Samsung Tool Pro is activated on your box, and as long as software package of Samsung Tool Pro is activated on your box, you have access to this box's download center as well and there is no need to search the internet for, downloading combination or firmware files! you can easily download many of them from this box's download center you can easily download many of them from this box's download center and the other thing is that, this box can activate LG Tool as well which means, you can perform various operations on, all LG mobile phones by activating LG section operations such as: resetting FRP, removing lock, flashing, repairing IMEI, and when you activate LG section on Z3X box, and when you activate LG section on Z3X box, you can access all firmware files and you can easily download LG firmware files, from download center of this box the next box is related to Nokia as you see in here it is ATF box and Best dongle well, I want to explain which brands the ATF box supports?! and which brands does Best dongle support? and also tell you why we need to have both boxes for, performing different operations on Nokia?! I'll start with ATF box as you see, it has 2 different ports for mobile phone operations and there is a USB port on the back, for connecting to the PC! ATF box supports older Nokia phones such as: DCT4 series, BB5 series, but unfortunately can't support new phones of Nokia, like: Android, MTK and Qualcomm phones that's why we need to have Best dongle as well as you see, Best dongle is a small hardware tool and its sim card is on its back to prevent from cracking and to prove that this box is purchased! the Best dongle only supports new mobile phones of Nokia (unlike ATF) the Best dongle only supports new mobile phones of Nokia (unlike ATF) phones with MTK and Qualcomm CPUs such as Nokia 130, Nokia 108, Nokia 220, and Nokia phones with other operating systems (Android) and Nokia phones with other operating systems (Android) Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 7, and the operations we can perform using this dongle are: flashing, unlocking, removing lock and resetting FRP! the next dongle is Furious Gold this dongle supports many of the brands but the most famous brand is Huawei Pack 7 is the most famous one meaning, Furious Gold Pack 7 that can easily perform many operations on different models of Huawei devices meaning, unlock bootloader, IMEI repair, network repair meaning, unlock bootloader, IMEI repair, network repair and also perform many software operations on Huawei devices this dongle has another pack as well called "Resurrector pack" and by activating the pack, we can flash Huawei devices in fastboot mode we can flash Huawei devices in fastboot mode you might wonder why we need to flash devices in fastboot mode? (while we can easily flash them in normal mode!) I should say that it's not completely true! most of the times the device encounters a software problem, most of the times the device encounters a software problem, in a way that we can only access fastboot of it and we need to write file in fastboot and that's when the Resurrector package of Furious Gold dongle can help us! the next is UFI dongle as you see, this is dongle of UFI! by purchasing UFI dongle, you can only access to Android Tool Box of UFI which means, by using this dongle: you can perform operations on, Qualcomm, MTK, SPD, Intel series devices, operations like: IMEI repair, Flashing, writing dump files operations like: IMEI repair, Flashing, writing dump files but if you bought UFI box, there is no need to purchase UFI dongle because if you buy UFI box, Android Tool Box of UFI will be activated as default! Android Tool Box of UFI will be activated as default! so these dongles are hardware locks, right? yes, all the dongles and even the boxes are hardware locks yes, all the dongles and even the boxes are hardware locks that prevent the dongle or box from being cracked!!! the next one is BST dongle BST is the abbreviation of "Best Smart Tools" which supports various brands like: Samsung, HTC, MTK, Xiaomi, and many Android models it does support those brands but, as it is a cheap dongle and doesn't update very often, you don't have to expect so much from it! this cable is for download mode this cable comes with BST dongle or Z3X box this cable comes with BST dongle or Z3X box meaning, this cable is in the package and the usage is to get the Samsung devices to download mode and the usage is to get the Samsung devices to download mode for example a Samsung device's "Home" key or "Volume down" key might have a problem, or with any other reason, we can't access download mode we can use this tool! – Which brands does it support? – Samsung only it only gets the Samsung devices to download mode is there any similar tool for other brands? No, we can only enter the download mode with combination keys! No, we can only enter the download mode with combination keys! the next one is Chimera Tool that is a multi-branded tool that supports Samsung, HTC, Huawei, LG, BlackBerry and Nokia Lumia and many MTK devices BlackBerry and Nokia Lumia and many MTK devices and it is very simple to work with meaning, you only need to open this software and then connect the device (phone or tablet) to PC and you see, the software detects the device and you see, the software detects the device and as you see in here, the phone is recognized the phone is Grand Prime SM-G531H and you see the operations that can be performed on this phone and you see the operations that can be performed on this phone in general tab, you can get info of the phone or even Reboot the phone Reboot to System option will restart the phone Reboot Recovery option will get the phone to Recovery mode and Reboot to Download option will get the phone to download mode in Unlock tab: you see that it completely supports network unlock which means, we can even get Read Code or direct unlock network of this phone in Backup tab: as you see, it can Read cert of the phone (get backup) and it can Write cert on the phone and in here, it can Store/Restore/Backup the security parts and in here, it can Store/Restore/Backup the security parts Can you explain what Cert is? Don't worry about anything I'll fully explain and analyze everything in the future videos I'll fully explain and analyze everything in the future videos so this an introduction only?! yeah, so that the repairmen will get familiar with the boxes' environment!!! in Repair tab, you can Root/Unroot this model of phone and as you see, Repair option is enabled and you can repair IMEI with this option in Software Repair/ Update tab, you can flash the phone in various ways in Software Repair/ Update tab, you can flash the phone in various ways and in the next tab, FRP/ Screen Lock, and in the next tab, FRP/ Screen Lock, you can reset FRP of the phone you can reset FRP of the phone so this was the introduction of Chimera powerful software it has a great download center as well meaning, we can easily download firmware files of devices, from Chimera download center, by connecting the device (phone or tablet) to PC so these explanations were a slight introduction, to start software mobile repairing I hope they would have been useful, for those who want to start mobile software repairing! and as I said in the beginning of the video, this isn't a tutorial video but the next videos will be technical and repairing videos I intended to give you a general view of mobile software repairing and the needed boxes and one more thing is that, there are many other boxes that I couldn't talk about in this video such as Volcano, Merapi, Miracle, Sigma, EFT dongle, CM2 Dongle, SETool box such as Volcano, Merapi, Miracle, Sigma, EFT dongle, CM2 Dongle, SETool box that I'm going to talk about in the next videos and also fully explain how to work with these boxes (that I showed) as well and also fully explain how to work with these boxes (that I showed) as well one quick question: Can they start mobile software repairing without the boxes? yes, they can! in fact I need to say that, software repairmen can solve, 60% to 70% of the devices' problems without the boxes! 60% to 70% of the devices' problems without the boxes! meaning, there is no need to have boxes box is only a professional tool that we use for operations that can only be performed with them like boot repair, resetting FRP of some models, IMEI repair, baseband repair! we use boxes for more professional purposes meaning, we need the boxes for about 20% to 30% of software problems and I'd like to say 2 things: first, I'll show how to solve many problems that, don't require boxes in future videos (the operations that you don't need any boxes to perform) and you can get everything done with free software packages! and second is that, if you didn't get your answer by watching this video or reading the article, feel free to ask your questions 🙂 and we will make sure to help you out as much as we could hope this video would be useful for you 🙂 and good luck Produced by: Dr-Bioscom
